MDHS Released Feb SNAP early; WIC Funded Through February

Food banks are always in need, but times are particularly trying. WIC to continue through February despite Shutdown WIC supplies staples and infant formula (or vouchers for these items) for pregnant women, infants, and children. If you have coupons for free formula, but do not need them, please consider purchasing formula to donate.  February SNAP released early Important to note: These benefits are not an extra payment or bonus and are intended to cover food purchases for February 2019. No additional SNAP benefits will be issued in February to households who received their February SNAP benefits on the early issuance date.  It is important to be prepared for the possibility that SNAP benefits may not be available for several months. MDHS also recommends purchasing non-perishable foods to sustain you through this period of uncertainty.

Pope School is collecting canned food

Pope School is having a canned food drive from 11/5-12/10. Collection bins are set up at the school. Canned Food Drive

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts collect donations for pantry

Batesville Cub Scout Troop 78 and Boy Scout Troop 478 recently collected 2,216 lbs of food and $1,211 in cash donations for the South Panola Food Pantry.
